ALL-TIME BEST TREKS IN ANNAPURNA REGION

The Annapurna Circuit is a classic trek, but there are so many other wonderful trekking opportunities in the region. For example, if you’re looking for a four or five-day round-trip trek that offers a view of all the Annapurna peaks, you should consider a detour to Tilicho Lake.

The trail begins in Manang and heads up quickly through pine forests and across scree slopes to the lake. You’ll pass a pass at 5,005 meters, and the lake is set against the great wall of the Annapurna range. This is a beautiful, but terrifying, place.

Naar-Pho Valley trek

This trek is perfect for adventure seekers looking for a challenging, yet rewarding trek through the Annapurna region. The route passes through beautiful hoodoos, crosses a slot canyon, and passes the iconic Zampa Cho Dzong. It also includes a stop at the Nar Phedi Monastery, a beautiful Tibetan monastery with gold-spired capitals. While you’re at the monastery, be sure to try the Tibetan dishes prepared by the nuns over an open fire.

The trek begins with a day rest in Manang, and then continues on classic Annapurna trails to Jomsom. The route also includes a pass over Thorong La, the highest trekking pass in the Annapurna region, at 5,416 meters. Then, you’ll descend through switchbacks to the picturesque village of Muktintintin-Hung.

The Nar-Pho Valley trek is a great trek for anyone who wants to experience unspoiled Himalayan nature. This trek crosses two regions, Annapurna and Manaslu regions, offering beautiful scenery, snow-capped mountaintops, and an authentic way of life. Although it was closed to trekkers until 2002, the valley is now open to the general public.

Mardi Himal trek

The Mardi Himal trek is a beautiful route through the Annapurna region that is less frequented than other trekking routes. Its spectacular mountain views, scenic beauty, and cultural experience make it a great trek for anyone interested in observing the local culture and wildlife. This trek can be shortened or extended according to your comfort levels and can be done solo or in groups.

The Mardi Himal trek is not a difficult trek, but it is not recommended for beginners. It is not as accessible as the Annapurna Circuit Trek, which is why it is best done by experienced trekkers. Since this trek is off the beaten path, there is a risk of going off track and getting lost in the forest. To avoid this, it is best to hire a trekking guide from a licensed agency.

The Mardi Himal trek is a multi-day trek that covers approximately 49 kilometers. It requires six to seven hours of walking each day and requires a certain level of physical fitness. Fortunately, this trek is affordable and will leave you with a lifetime of great travel memories.

Annapurna Circuit trek

There are many reasons to choose the Annapurna Circuit as your next trekking destination. This challenging journey includes some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. It’s also relatively inexpensive, costing an average of NRP 200 to 300 (roughly US$2 to $3) per night. Of course, you’ll need to factor in the cost of food and lodging, which is usually provided by the guesthouses you stay in.

However, you’ll also need to consider the amount of road walking that you’ll have to endure to complete this trek. While you’re out hiking, you’ll have to cross at least 24 kilometers of road, and there’s a lot of traffic to contend with.

Most of the main trails feature comfortable trekking lodges with hot showers and wi-fi. The only downside is that the lodges are often packed during high season, so you’ll need to plan your itinerary well. If you’d prefer to camp, you can try one of the many organised camping expeditions. For the best views, try to plan your journey starting at midway, before the peak season.

Ghandruk Loop trek

The Ghandruk loop trek is a popular six-day trekking itinerary in the Annapurna region. This trek passes through two popular villages and is known for its scenic views and Gurung hospitality. This trek is suitable for people of all levels, including beginners and families with young children. The trek takes you past Ghachok Village, where you will get to experience the life of the Gurung people.

Although this trek is suitable for people with limited trekking experience, it does require regular exercise and is best done in September, October, or December. It is possible to extend your trek to Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek or the Annapurna Sanctuary. This trek is perfect for people with limited time and a good physical condition. You can expect to hike for around five to six hours each day.

The Ghandruk Loop trek is one of Nepal’s most popular treks, and it’s a great introduction to the country. It offers a great landscape, an enticing Gurung culture, and spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains. Despite its short duration, the Ghandruk Loop Trek is a family-friendly adventure, which means that it’s perfect for those with young children.
